SHARON LENA, RN, BA, MS
Sharon has worked in the healthcare field for over 35 years. She obtained her R.N. degree in 1982 after going back to school to expand on her previous Bachelor’s
and Master’s Degrees in Education. She felt the need to simply make a difference
in people’s lives by being involved in healthcare. Her nursing career has included employment in hospitals, physician's’ offices, public health, schools, and home care agencies and volunteer work with churches and community health events.
She has held positions in direct patient care and middle management, as a Registered Nurse, Director of Nursing, Nursing Supervisor, and Director
of Home Health Services.
Sharon relocated to Florida in 1996 with her spouse. She had been employed with the Department of Education, Hospital, Physician’s Offices, Department of Public Health, and a Medical Waste Company while residing in Connecticut.
Since moving to Florida, Sharon has worked for home care agencies, attorneys’ offices, and a senior publication. She has been involved with numerous organizations, including chambers of commerce, American Red Cross, community service council, area aging network groups, and local community neighborhood boards.
In April, Sharon joined Care Resources as a Care Manager. She continues to assess needs and develop plans for the aging population. She is involved in crisis intervention and quality of care. With both her professional and personal experience, she is qualified to perform these tasks. Sharon has two elderly parents living out of state for whom she provides geriatric care management daily. She feels adequately suited to continue this expertise on a professional level locally.
Sharon has passion for her family, faith, and profession. She has a strong sense of pride and loves her military family fiercely. She practices a deep faith and believes that there is a reason why she is who she is and has become the person that she is. Sharon looks forward to continuing to contribute to all the lives that she touches. She truly wants “to be the best that she can be” and share this compassion professionally.
